How did Camp Brookwood come to be?

The land was donated to create a youth camp for Anglican families in the Diocese by Doctor James Lockhart.


What can I bring to Camp Brookwood and what should I leave at home?

What to Bring

  • Sleeping bag
  • Pillow
  • Clothes for when it’s hot, cold or rainy
  • Bathing suit (one-piece please girls)
  • Socks
  • Sneakers (No Flip Flops or Croc’s)
  • Pyjamas
  • Hat
  • Toothpaste and tooth brush
  • Comb or Brush
  • Towel and face cloth
  • Soap
  • Shampoo
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug Spray (Necessity!)
  • Water bottle
  • Really old clothes for the grubby stuff
  • Flashlight
  • Notebook and pen
  • Bible

What to Leave Home

Valuable items and anything electronic - iPod, MP3 player, cell phone, Game Boy or any other electronic game and cameras. Please note if found they will be locked up until the end of Camp.

Every effort is made to keep the camp nut-free, even in the tuck shop.  Please do not bring or send any snacks containing nuts.

Smoking is prohibited at all times on Camp grounds.

Do I have to be an Anglican to attend Camp Brookwood?

No, not at all - you do not need to be an Anglican to attend Camp Brookwood.  Although Camp Brookwood is an Anglican church camp, youth of any denomination, or no religious denomination at all, are welcome to attend and participate in camp programs.

How much does it cost to attend a week at Camp Brookwood?

The one week camp fee is $200.00.  BUT, if you register before June 1, 2018, the cost is reduced to $150.00 for the whole week!

Some churches and parishes offer sponsorship for campers wishing to attend.  Please speak with your rector or send an e-mail to Camp Brookwood for sponsorship details.

What programs are available at Camp Brookwood?

Summer camping programs include swimming in the pool, archery, recreation, hiking, handicrafts, Christian Education, worship, games, special events and campfires.
